Party planning can be fun, but a little overwhelming when you’re trying to work around little ones at home. A few weeks ago, I hosted two parties in one weekend: a (very relaxed) family wedding shower, and a 3 year old birthday party. The shower was first and, sadly, the weather didn’t cooperate, but my party people knew exactly what to do….
We started the weekend with mimosas and infused water.
And by infused water, I mean an explosion of healthy in your mouth. You see those cupcakes in the top left? I devoured them, and then drank some healthy water…see where I’m going with this?
This infused water adds so much color to your decor, and is super easy to make. Want to know what fruit combos to add? Click here for a tutorial & find out where I bought the dispenser.
The weather finally cleared, and we were able to get back to business: the must have pool accessories of the summer. What pool party is complete without a unicorn and flamingo float? If you’re like me, you have seen them everywhere this summer. I finally bought them here and here. The swan float is pretty high on the must have list, too. This unicorn has entertained any and everybody who has gone in the water, and the Amazon price is currently $25 less than what I bought it for. The bride spent basically the whole afternoon there….as she should.
Ice cream and cookies. Two of summers greatest guilty pleasures. Thanks to That Chic Mom blog, we experienced both of them in one bite. With sprinkles. Thatchicmom.com has this great tutorial on how to throw the perfect ice cream sandwich party that helped me offer something fun and unique at both parties.
The bride’s colors are purple and silver, and Frozen colors are purple, silver and teal/blue. Perfect! Except I couldn’t find the teal/blue candy that I wanted. So, rainbow colors were mixed in.
As organized as I tried to be, this was one of the only good shots I was able to get of the rainbow ice cream cookie bar. The ice cream sandwich party tutorial has mouth watering pictures, so check them out!
Here’s my sweet little birthday girl, Mae. She’s a definite threenager, but life just wouldn’t be as exciting without her. Her darling Matilda Jane top is sold out, but you can shop a similar look here.
Do you have any easy party ideas to share? I’d love to hear them!
Enjoy! xo, Leslie
